We wrapped up our season this morning with uniform turn-in and a fun game of Infection! It was fun to
watch the kids out there running around playing tag like they did back when I used to watch them at
SCIS!! :) I'm happy to announce we were able to pull out a clean sweep at District by winning all 4 team
titles!! The 7th and 8th grade boys had to really fight for it ... and they did! Results are a bit
tricky to read ... there are 2 sets — one for boys results and one for girls results.

Thanks to all for bringing your child up early all year long! I know, as a parent, that is sometimes
difficult. I'm so proud of the work these kids put in over this year, and I am looking forward to
getting them on the track in the Spring. Thanks to all who helped put on the team breakfast — it
went great and the kids got full and fueled on race day! Our amazing high school team put together
goodie bags for each runner, so I hope your child enjoyed that!

WSMS XC Results
It was another great meet yesterday, and the kids ran REALLY well. I challenged them to place better
than the previous meet as well as beat their time trial time ... and we had many who achieved both! (CLICK HERE for results). We will have our District meet next week in Rockwall, and the goal will
be to win all 4 divisions. We will need everyone racing in order to make this happen!! I hope they
enjoyed their morning of extra sleep; I know my girl did! :)

WSMS XC Domination
What an awesome day for our "first" Cross Country meet yesterday! We finally got some agreeable weather,
and the kids showed up ready to rock and roll!!! We could not be more proud of the way the youngsters
performed! Their months of hard work and extra running most certainly paid off — we DOMINATED!!!
We won all 4 divisions AND had the individual champion in all 4 divisions!!! Woo hoo!!! PLUS
the 7th grade girls had a PERFECT score by placing first, second, third, fourth and fifth!! (top 5
finishers in XC for team scoring). 8th grade girls came close by going 1, 2, 3, 4, 6
— and putting 7 GIRLS IN THE TOP 10 — awesome! The 7th grade boys put 6 in the top 10 and
8th grade boys put 5 in the top 10! All runners gave so much effort and competed very hard ... that is
all we ask for
—
DO YOUR VERY BEST AND CHALLENGE YOURSELF!!!! That, they did.
The course was confusing and not well-marked ... plus it was very long (approximately 2.2-2.3 miles).
Therefore, times are skewed and not a true 2-mile. We should get a more accurate feel at our meet next
Tuesday as far as times go. However, that is part of the fun of Cross Country — you never know
what you'll get! It could be flat, hilly, grassy, wet, muddy, short, long ... who knows! Just run hard,
compete hard, and push yourself to your limit.
So ... our goal will be to go undefeated for the season ... meaning we need to win the next 2 meets
in all divisions! Only 2 more weeks of hard training ... so please make sure your runner is
following the plan. We want all kids to see improvement and have that awesome feeling of
accomplishment when you've done something you never thought you could.
The results are a bit confusing because the Rockwall coaches arranged the results by team and not by
place ... so it's tough to see the true order. And the times do not reflect a true 2 mile. So here
are the Lovejoy top-10 finishers for each race.
