WOW WOW WOW!! I was sad to have to miss yesterday — first XC meet I've ever missed :( ... However,
I was so excited when I looked at these results and saw all of the PR's we had!! I had several HS girls
texting me telling me how great these girls ran and how excited they are to get them to the high school
with us! Chloe Reyna moved up to the #6 all-time best 2 miler on that course with Tatum Novicke a few
seconds behind. We had many girls go sub 14 mins and nearly all girls on the team hit their best time of
the year. (Look at all of the 2021's on the chart!!) Also, notice Katie Armstrong in the #18 slot. Katie
is a senior this year and was our top runner when she was in 8th grade. She had an awesome season and
was the #5 on our State-Winning team this year. I think her time here shows that hard work, dedication,
and commitment to this sport and program can pay off in big ways!!! Encourage your girls to keep after
it, regardless of where they are today!
Also, a HUGE thank you to all of the parents who helped set up/clean up/serve as well as those who
donated to the team breakfast yesterday. There was a ton of food!
I would like for all girls to take a few weeks off from running and just relax. (or focus on
whatever other sports they are in!) :) I will send out a winter running plan that will have them
prepared for the Track season if they follow it. (and for those running in HS next year, it will
help them to be prepared for that as well)
It has been a fun season, and I am looking forward to the future with this talented and dedicated
group of young ladies!

One of the things I speak with my high school team about on a regular basis is having a champion mindset
in every aspect of their life. A champion mindset encompasses many things, and one of those aspects is
training on their own when necessary. I pride my high school team for taking this seriously and
executing this task. Yesterday, I saw that same mindset out of our middle school runners. It was EVIDENT
that a large majority of our girls put in work over the long break!! I am very proud of the way they
raced on a difficult course, and we had some great things happen!! A few girls who really stood out were
Paige Spencer, Kendall Stubing, and Sofia Dominguez. These 3 have made some dramatic improvements over
the past 3 months, and they each raced very aggressively yesterday. I love that!
I am proud of the girls and ready to win the District meet next Tuesday at Willow Springs! I'm hoping
for a lot of PR's!
I hope you are proud of your girls! We had a lot of improvements yesterday. I heard several girls this
morning excited about dropping time ... so that is awesome. As we go into the Thanksgiving break, please
make sure your runner is getting some running in each day. It is very important that she does not take
the entire week off. She will lose so much fitness that she has worked for the past few months. When we
get back after the break, we will have a meet at Rockwall (hilly course) and then our last meet back
here at Lovejoy. I will send out a training plan for the break on Friday, and I will speak with the kids
about the importance of getting in their runs each day.
I am going to meet briefly with ALL 8TH GRADE GIRLS tomorrow after practice. I need all to be there -
primarily those planning to run next year in HS.
Please note that the results are different than what was on the clock at the meet. These results should
be more accurate. I will say that it is challenging to know from Rockwall results, but we will get
ACCURATE times at our meet on Tuesday. When we race at the 2 Rockwall meets, it's more about placement
than time. The girls ran great, and I am ready to see them run on our home course!!

the running record board for our home course. These are the fastest times run on this course since I've
been here for 7 years. Let's get some more names on there this season!
We finally received the results from the Rockwall meet! Results are attached. I am so proud of the way
our kids competed. We won both boys divisions! I am especially proud of our 8th grade boys. The course
monitors directed the lead group the wrong path and those runners had to turn around and play catch up.
We still came out with the win by only one point! Awesome stuff!
